Florida Dermatology and Skin Cancer Centers (FLDSCC), a family-focused practice with offices throughout Florida, is pleased to announce the academic promotion of Dr. Christy Merrick, a dedicated member of our team since 2013. Dr. Merrick has successfully completed a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, an achievement that underscores her commitment to excellence in patient care.
Dr. Merrick joined FLDSCC as a board-certified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), bringing her expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of dermatological conditions. Her clinical focus includes the management of precancerous and cancerous lesions, acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, seborrheic dermatitis, rashes, and many other skin disorders. Over the past decade, she has become an invaluable asset to our practice, providing top-tier care to patients of all ages.
The DNP degree is the highest level of clinical education in the nursing profession. It is heavily practice-oriented, equipping nurses with advanced clinical, organizational, and leadership skills. This degree is particularly paramount for Dr. Merrick, as it enables her to further elevate the care provided to our patients, integrating the latest evidence-based practices into her work.
