About Stephan Thornton
Stephan Thornton is a board-certified advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who joined FLDSCC in 2016. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Florida Southern College, and also holds a Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of South Florida with a concentration in family practice.
Before joining FLDSCC, Stephan was an RN in the surgical intensive care unit at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. During his APRN clinical rotation through various areas of nursing practice, Stephan developed a particular interest in dermatology as he saw different diagnoses affecting people across their lifespan. Stephan is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, the Polk County Nurse Practitioner Association, and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
At FLDSCC, Stephan’s clinical duties include diagnosing and treating patients of all ages with dermatological complaints such as precancerous and cancerous lesions, acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, seborrheic dermatitis, rashes, as well as a vast variety of other skin disorders.
A Lakeland native, Stephan is involved with Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine. He enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, young son, and dog. For fun, he likes fishing, boating, and going to the beach.
