Amanda Smay, MPAS, PA-C
Amanda Smay is a board-certified physician assistant (PA-C), who joined FLDSCC in 2021. She is a graduate of Clemson University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences. Amanda is also a graduate of Emory & Henry College, School of Health Sciences, where she earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree.
Amanda has worked in dermatology since 2016 and has extensive experience as a surgical first assistant in both skin cancer excision and Mohs micrographic surgery. Prior to joining FLDSCC, Amanda spent more than three years working as a medical assistant at two of Atlanta’s largest comprehensive dermatology practices – Dermatology Associates of Atlanta, and Atlanta Skin Cancer Specialists. She was also a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda National Leadership and Honors Society, the Alpha Epsilon Delta Medical & Pre-health Honors Society, and the FIRST Organization for First Generation College Students. Amanda is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Florida Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
At FLDSCC, Amanda focuses on recognizing and managing medical dermatology conditions such as acne, hair loss, dermatitis, eczema, moles, warts, varicosities, and skin cancers. She is also certified in cosmetic dermatology procedures such as chemical peels, Botox®, laser resurfacing, skin rejuvenation, fillers, and more.
When she is not working, Amanda enjoys running, playing tennis, kayaking, going to the beach, and spending time with her dog Sadie. Additionally, Amanda is an avid volunteer. She has volunteered with the Good Samaritan Health Center and has taken two additional medical service trips to Panama and Costa Rica to set up medical clinics in local schools and churches, provide basic medical care while shadowing local physicians, and supplying medical supplies to those in need.
